Conclusions

The test measurements carried out under field conditions gave an inside how GNSS based control systems can be verified. In particular, the Total Stations provides a high accuracy for 3D tracking. A reference system could be built by integrating additional sensors. These sensors need to be tested and calibrated initially. However, the quality of a steering system cannot be assessed by simply tracking the vehicle. The connection to the trailed machine is of equal importance. It can be influenced by the slope of the terrain or asymmetry of the machines.
