Multisensor Measuring Reference System
High-end motorised Total Stations with automatic target recognition are powerful measuring systems for object tracking. The Total Station is supplemented with two RTK differential GNSS antennas for absolute positioning and orientation as well as a dual axis slope sensor for the vehicle inclinations. With this setup, it is possible to track a tractor continuously and determine its 6 degrees of freedom in centimetre accuracy with an update rate up to 10 Hz.
This reference system allows to test typical tasks such as the accuracy of repeated tracks, relative distances between two traces on a field and the performance with poor GNSS signals, as it could occur at an edge of a forest.
